I am an environmental microbiologist specializing in soil and plant-associated microbiomes, with a focus on disease suppressiveness, abiotic stress tolerance, and sustainable agricultural systems. My research integrates metagenomics, metabolomics, and microbial ecology to understand how complex microbial communities influence plant health and resilience. My scientific work spans several international institutions, including Univeristy of Gdańsk, the Netherlands Institute of Ecology in Wageningen (NIOO-KNAW), Biology Centre CAS, Leiden University, and the Institute for Mediterranean and Subtropical Horticulture (IHSM UMA-CSIC) in Málaga where I currently work. I have led and contributed to projects on soil suppressiveness, microbial volatiles, insect-associated microbiomes, and microbiome engineering in agriculture. My primary interest is understanding how plant-associated microbiomes function and translating this knowledge into agricultural applications.
